Girls' Basketball Tops Raiders
The Varsity Girls' Basketball team improved to 4-2 with a 67-43 win over conference foe, Lafayette Harrison. The Dogs jumped out to an early lead following a great defensive effort by Chloe Dygert. Chloe scored 6 of her season high 11 points in the first quarter. The Dogs were up 20-7. The Raiders played the Dogs even in the second quarter, the Dogs entered halftime with a 34-21 advantage. The Dogs continued to play hard in the second half, holding the Raiders to just 8 fourth quarter points. Several Dogs contributed to the win. Kayle Comer hit 4 three pointers and finished the game with 14 points. Stephanie Mavunga scored a game high 25 points, pulled down 12 rebounds and blocked 6 shots. Chloe Dygert sparked the Dogs' defense and finished with 6 steals, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Aliyah Walker and Lindsey Low combined for 15 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals and 4 assists. Brooke Bronger played great help defense taking TWO charges! The Dogs will face a tough Plainfield squad on Wednesday night. Come out and support your Dogs!
