Top Ranked HSE Downs Bulldogs

The Varsity Girls' Basketball team fought a good fight last night against the top ranked team in the State, Hamilton Southeastern, eventually losing the battle 43-58.  The Dogs played great defense in the first quarter, holding the Royals to just 7 first quarter points.  The Dogs trailed 6-7 after eight minutes of action.  The Dogs continued to do a great job on the defensive end of the court, forcing turnovers and dominating the boards.  The Dogs entered halftime down by 7, 16-23.  The Dogs came out of the half with tremendous energy and determination, scoring the first 9 points of the half to the take the lead 25-23.  The Royals responded forcing several turnovers and scoring in transition to finish the quarter up 31-38.  Despite their defensive efforts, the Dogs were plagued with turnovers throughout the game. Lindsey Low played awesome defense on HSE's top player!  Aliyah Walker filled up the stat sheet with 13 points,  9 rebounds and 4 steals.  The Dogs have a week off to regroup and will be ready to face Lafayette Harrison on December 8th in the varsity fieldhouse.  Great effort Dogs!
