Girls' Basketball Finishes Regular Season with Win

The Varsity Girls' Basketball Team finished the regular season with a convincing win over Brebeuf, 57-26, on Friday night.  Kayle Comer started the Dogs off by hitting two quick buckets just seconds into the game.  Stephanie Mavunga and Katie Reinhart quickly contributed points in the post and Alex Shipley nailed a 3 pointer, as the Dogs jumped out to a 16-3 first quarter lead.  The Dogs played stifling defense in the first half, allowing the Braves only 11 first half points.  The Dogs led by 20 entering the half.  The Bulldogs continued to play well in the second half, with Stephanie, Katie, Audrey Lyons and Chloe Dygert scoring in the post.    Stephanie finished with a game high 24 points, 13 rebounds and 9 blocks.  Katie scored 8 points and 6 rebounds.  Katie was a perfect 6 for 6 from the free throw line!  Audrey finished with 7 points.  Chloe finished with 4 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals.  Hannah Mingus pulled down 7 boards, 5 on the offensive end of the court.  Allison DeVaney dished out 5 assists and had 3 steals.  Kayle finished with 9 points.  Kayle and Alex each pulled down 3 rebounds.  It was an all around terrific team victory!  The Dogs finished the regular season 18-2!
