Bulldogs Cruise to Victory Over Tigers

The varsity girls' basketball teamscored a season high 82 points on Saturday night, defeating a tough Fishers squad 82-77.  The Dogs got off to a great start, scoring 21 first quarter points and leading the Tigers by five after eight minutes of action.  The Tigers played ferocious defense in the second quarter forcing turnovers and converting on the offensive end.  The Dogs entered halftime down, 38-44.  The Dogs continued to push the ball down the court in the second half scoring 44 second half points!  The Dogs were down by four with just under four minutes to play.  The Dogs' defense forced Tigers' turnovers and missed shots down the stretch.  The Dogs took advantage of their size and strength finishing on layups and securing several tough rebounds in the final minute to secure their 16th victory of the season! Kayle Comer kept the Dogs in the game, scoring 12 first half points.  Kayle finished with a career high 21 points, four rebounds, three assists and a steal.  Stephanie Mavunga dominated in the paint in the second half, finishing with a game high 30 points, 21 rebounds and eight blocks.  Alex Shipley scored 10 points, grabbed three defensive rebounds and had two steals.  Lindsey Low finished with 10 points, six boards and three assists.  Allison DeVaney and Katie Reinhart did a great job handling the full court pressure, maneuvering through Fishers' press.  Allison finished with eight hard fought rebounds and four points. It was a great team victory!  The Dogs are now in second place in the HCC standings.The Dogs face Lebanon on Wednesday night.  Its senior night - come out and support your seniors!
