Girls' Basketball Stays Undefeated

The Varsity Girls' Basketball team improved to 5-0, (2-0 in the HCC), with a conference win over Lafayette Jefferson, 45-26.  The Dogs jumped out quick with tenancious defense leading the Broncos after one quarter of action, 16-2.    The Dogs offensive production slowed in the second quarter with the Dogs missing several shots, but the defense held steady holding Jeff to just five second quarter points.  The Dogs entered halftime up by 15, 22-7.  The Dogs did a great job on the boards and limited their turnovers in the second half and finished strong scoring 12 points in the final quarter.

Allison DeVaney played amazing defense, holding Jeff's leading scorer to one bucket.  Allison also pulled down five rebounds and dished out five assists.  Katie Reinhart was steady in the post.  Katie scored four points, pulled down 4 rebounds and had 4 steals.   Stephanie Mavunga had a game high 20 points, 9 rebounds and 5 blocks.  Makenzie Trout and Kayle Comer combined for 9 rebounds.  Kayle, Alex Shipley and Lindsey Low each scored six points.  It was an all around great team effort.
