Quakers Edge Victory Over Bulldogs

The varsity girls' basketball teamlost a tough game last night to county rival, Plainfield, 50-53.  The Dogs got off to a slow start, committing 13 first half turnovers.  The Dogs entered the half down 17-35.  The Dogs were resilient in the second half playing great defense and valuing each possession.  The Dogs would limit their second half turnovers to just four!  The Dogs cut into the Quakers lead one bucket at a time and were within two points, with possession of the ball with just seconds left in the game.  The Quakers defense did a great job down the stretch forcing the Dogs to miss on several shot attempts in the final seconds of action.  The Dogs crashed the boards hard, grabbing several offensive rebounds, but their shots would not fall.  The Dogs will have an attempt to avenge this loss in the Hendricks County Tournament in a few weeks.  We are proud of the girls' effort in the second half! Three players scored in double figures!  Stephanie Mavunga scored 15 points to go along with her 21 rebounds, eight blocks and four assists.  Kayle Comer hit two big three pointers in the fourth quarter and finished the night with 14 points, three rebounds and two steals.  Katie Reinhart was very aggressive, hitting 6 - 11 shots from the field.  Katie finished with 13 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
