Emma Wolf finishes 7th at IHSAA Girls' Diving State Final

By Drew Sandifer

Emma Wolf of the Brownsburg Girls' Swimming & Diving team finished 7th overall in the IHSAA Girls' Diving State Final at the IU Natatorium on Feb. 13 with a score of 470.05.

Wolf started out strong, scoring a 54 on a dive in Round 2 of the preliminaries, what was at the time a high for any diver in the meet. Wolf consistently climbed up the leaderboard throughout the event, getting as high as fourth heading into the Finals of the meet with just the top 16 divers remaining.

While Wolf finished seventh, just six points separated seventh from fourth, as the senior IU commit went for it with a high degree-of-difficulty dive in the final round. Wolf's season included double-digit wins in the diving portions of the meets this season, a 2nd place finish at HCCs to eventual back-to-back State champion Morgan Casey of Fishers, who will be Wolf's teammate at IU next year. Wolf also captured the Sectional and Regional Championships for diving.
