No. 6/26 Swimming & Diving return to pool at Franklin Central

The No. 6/26 Brownsburg Boys' and Girls' Swimming & Diving teams return from the holiday break on Jan. 5 with an HCC meet on the road against Franklin Central. The boys have won their last five meets since returning many of their top performers. The Bulldogs have climbed to No. 6 in the IHSSCA Mid-Season poll, their highest ranking of the season. Meanwhile, the girls have rarely had a meet with their full complement of top swimmers, but still find themselves in the Mid-Season poll at No. 26. The meet is scheduled to start at 6 p.m.

Brownsburg Notes

  • Boys coming off win at Floyd Central, their fifth consecutive win in a meet over the span of 11 days.
  • Girls finished second, just behind host Floyd Central, but was coming off two consecutive wins over Pike and Terre Haute North.
  • Senior Austin Kehr has continued his dominating season, coming off four wins at Floyd Central
  • Dogs are ranked 6th in Mid-Season poll, but are third-ranked team in stacked HCC behind Fishers (3) and Zionsville (5).
  • Senior Emma Wolf broke a 38-year-old school record on Dec. 17 with a 282.50 scored on six dives. Wolf now holds both school records in diving.
  • Junior Annika Schaekel made her season debut at Floyd Central as a winner as part of the 400 Yard Free Relay team.

Franklin Central Notes

  • Franklin Central Boys' team ranks at No. 24 in the Mid-Season poll, girls' team is unranked.
  • Flashes are coming off an extended break since swimming at the Marion County Championship meet on Dec. 19. Boys finished 2nd, girls finished third.

Up next

This meet is the final event for these two squads before the HCC Championships. Divers take the pool on Jan 8. while swimmers take action on Jan. 9. Both of these events will take place at the Brownsburg Aquatic Center.
