No. 21 Girls' Swimming & Diving take second at Floyd Central Invite

The No. 21 Brownsburg Girls' Swimming & Diving team came away from their trip south at the Floyd Central Invite with a second place finish, just narrowly finishing behind the winner and host Floyd Central, 628-616. North Harrison finished in third with 340 points, Boonville finished in fourth with 226 points and Southwestern finished fifth with 129 points.

Senior Emma Wolf continued her dominant season with yet another victory in the diving portion of Saturday's event, scoring a 445.55 across 11 dives. On the swimming side, Erin Haycox came away with three wins on the event with wins in the 200 Yard Free (2:03.50), 500 Yard Free (5:29.91) and as a member of the winning 400 Yard Free Relay team alongside Rory Smith, Annika Schaekel and Margie Miller.

Smith, Schaekel and Miller were also a part of the winning 200 Yard Free Relay team along with Grace Hasselbrinck. Members of that team also saw success in individual heats with Smith being vcitorious in the 200 Yard IM (2:15.57), Miller finishing first in the 100 Yard Free (55.40).

The Dogs take a two-week break from competition to focus on holiday training and refocus on goals to win conference, sectionals and state championships. The Dogs next take the pool after the new year on the road against HCC foe Franklin Central on Jan. 5. The meet is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
