No. 21 Girls' Swimming & Diving win season-opening meet

The No. 21 Brownsburg Girls' Swimming & Diving won their season opening meet at the Brownsburg Invite on Nov. 23, which included Brebeuf, Cathedral and Cardinal Ritter. The Bulldogs dominated the competition, winning 126-50 over Brebeuf, 147-32 over Cathedral and 148-34 over Cardinal Ritter.

No. 5 ranked diver in the state senior Emma Wolf won the diving portion of the meet with 243 points.

On the swimming side, senior Maria Gutzweiler won the 50-meter free and 100-meter butterfly. Senior Rory Smith won the 200-meter IM and the 100-meter freestyle. Junior Leah Kingery also impressed by winning the 100-meter breastroke. All three were also on the winning 200-meter medlay realy team while Gutzweiler and Smith also helped take home the win as part of the 200-meter freestyle relay.

The Brownsburg Invite also served as this year's Senior Night for the team. The Girls' Swimming & Diving team recognized their seven seniors in Zoe Fitterling, Maria Gutzweiler, Ella Hart, Maria Schol, Rory Smith, Ella Wilson and Emma Wolf

The Dogs will next take action at Fishers High School on Nov. 28 with a meet against the host Tigers and Westfield. JV is set to start at 9 a.m. with Varsity to follow at 11 a.m.
