Volleyball at Carmel Invite

The Volleydogs went 2-2 at the Carmel Invite this morning. 

The Dogs won match 1 was against Elkhart Memorial with scores of 25-21, 26-24. 

Defensive leaders were senior Skyy Smith with 3 blocks, sophomore Audrey Naberhaus with 2 blocks, junior Jaelyn Keown with 11 digs, senior Kaitlyn Leaf with 7 digs and junior Morgan Syoen with 5 digs. 

Offensive leaders were freshman Quinci Thomas with 9 kills, senior Skyy Smith with 6 kills, senior Marah Wood with 5 kills, senior Katie Hardegree with 17 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 11 assists. 

Match 2 was won by Carmel with scores of 22-25, 25-13 and 11-15. 

Defensive leaders were senior Ashley Margetts with 2 blocks, freshman Ella Hemmings with 10 digs and senior Katie Hardegree with 8 digs. 

Offensive leaders were freshman Quinci Thomas with 10 kills, senior Skyy Smith with 9 kills, senior Katie Hardegree with 17 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 14 assists. 

The Dogs won match 3 against Bloomington South with scores of 26-24, 18-25 and 15-10. 

Defensive leaders were sophomore Kendall Meller with 4 blocks, freshman Ella Hemmings 12 digs and senior Ashley Margetts with 11 digs. 

Offensive leaders were seniors Skyy Smith and Ashley Margetts with 11 kills each, freshman Quinci Thomas with 10 kills, senior Katie Hardegree with 23 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 14 assists. 

The last match for the Bulldogs was a loss to Floyd Central with set scores of 25-15, 12-2 and 11-15. 

Defensive leaders were senior Marah Wood with 3 blocks, freshman Ella Hemmings with 7 digs and seniors Ashley Margetts and Katie Hardegree with 4 digs each. 

Offensive leaders were senior Skyy Smith with 7 kills, sophomore Audrey Naberhaus with 3 kills and senior Katie Hardegree with 16 assists. 

The Volleydogs are back on Thursday, October 17th for the first round of Sectionals. The Dogs will play Terre Haute South Vigo at 6 PM at Plainfield High School.
