4 Volleyball Seniors Named Academic All-State Players

By: Maddie Greer

Seniors Ashley Margetts, Audrey Gordon, Katelyn Rickert and Marah Wood earned the prestigious Academic All-State award from the Indiana High School Volleyball Coaches Association. Academic All-State nominees must have at least a 3.5 GPA, be a senior, a varsity player and a minimum SAT score of 1110 or an ACT score of 24.

On top of being an outstanding student, the nominee must also play impressively on the Varsity level. Ashley Margetts is in the top 20 HCC kill leaders and dig leaders. Marah Wood is in the top 20 HCC blockers. Audrey Gordon was an essential player in the Dogs 3-0 win over Fishers during the season, as well as the 3-1 win over Noblesville. Katelyn Rickert has been a continuous excellent server with aces throughout the season.

Head Coach Katie Maples had this to say about her 4 seniors: "Really proud of our team for their performance in the classroom this fall and overall, but these four ladies are exceptional and are a true example of how to balance school and volleyball and how to thrive at both! I am thrilled to see them receive this honor!"

The Bulldog Family is proud Ashley, Audrey, Katelyn and Marah and wishes them the best in their future endeavors!
