Volleydogs Win 3-1 on Senior Night

The Volleydogs dominated on senior night winning over Noblesville 3-1 with set scores of 18-25, 25-18, 25-19 and 25-14. 

Set 1 was a bit of a warmup for the Dogs. Set 2 truly showcased senior Ashley Margetts as she forced the Millers into 2 timeouts during the match. Margetts had two crucial kills and pushed the Millers to take timeouts after her performances. 

In set 3, junior Maddie Smith pushed the Millers into a timeout with an ace and senior Skyy Smith ended the match with a kill for the set point. 

Set 4 was no different than the 2 previous sets. Senior Audrey Gordon pushed the Millers to a timeout with an impressive kill mid-set. 

Head coach Katie Maples says she is so proud of her team, espeically her seniors, saying: "It was a relaly good win for us to come out and cap our season on. I'm really proud of our girls tonight an the way they showed up. I am so proud of our seniors and the way they played in the 1st set, but just the way that they carry themselves and the people they are, I'm really proud to call them mine."

Defensive leaders were junior Maddie Smith with 14 digs and freshman Ella Hemmings with 13 digs. 

Offensive leaders were senior Ashley Margetts with 15 kills, senior Audrey Gordon and freshman Quinici Thomas with 5 kills each, seniors Skyy Smith, Kaitlyn Leaf and Marah Wood with 4 kills each, senior Katie Hardegree with 21 assists and junior Morgan Syoen with 19 assists. 

Varsity volleyball will play next week for the first round of Sectionals. The Volleydogs will take on Terre Haure South Vigo on Thursday, October 17 at Plainfield High School.
