Varsity Volleyball Wins vs. No. 13 Castle

Varsity Volleyball won their second match of the day at the Brownsburg Invitational over the weekend against Castle, the 13th ranked team in Indiana. Set scores were 25-23, 18-25, 18-25, 25-18 and 15-8. 

The match was a back and forth battle, but the Dogs zeroed in for the win in the end. 

Head coach Katie Maples said "Marah Wood stepped up late with some huge blocks to propel us to victory." Wood is a senior who had 2 crucial blocks during the match. 

Senior Ashley Margetts and Junior Morgan Syoen were on point during this match. Margetts finished with 11 kills and 17 digs and Syoen finished with 30 assists and 19 digs. 

Offensive leaders were freshman Quinci Thomas with 19 kills and junior Cate Murphy with 24 assists. 

Defensive leaders were freshman libero Ella Hemmings with 15 digs, junior Maddie Smith with 14 digs, senior Skyy Smith with 5 blocks, sophomore Audrey Naberhaus with 4 blocks and sophomore Kendall Meller with 3 blocks. 

The Varsity Dogs are back in action on Monday, September 9th at home vs. Plainfield. Match play starts at 5:30PM.
