Maples secures first win; volleyball sweeps Ben Davis to open season

The volleyball team opened the Katie Maples era with a resounding 3-0 (25-9, 25-9, 25-7) win over Ben Davis on Aug. 20th. Maples, who is in her inaugural season at the helm of the volleyball program, picked up her first win in dominating fashion.
The Bulldogs jumped on the Giants early and ultimately never looked back in the staright sets win. A quick 10-3 run to open the first set forced the Giants to take a timeout to hault momentum. Ben Davis was ultimately never able to recover in the first set.
At the midway point of the second set, Brownsburg led 13-9 before closing the match on a 12-0 run. They went on a similar 13-2 run to open the third set.
The Bulldogs will continue their 2019 campaign with a trip to Cathedral on Aug. 20th. The JV match is set for 5:30 p.m. with varstiy to follow.
