Abby Lynch wins Regional; Altschul, Griffin, Kirtz to join her in state meet

The Brownsburg Girls' Track and Field team competed in IHSAA Regional action on May 25, placing seventh as a team out of 22 participating schools. Four Bulldogs will advances as individuals to the state meet on June 5. 

Abby Lynch took home the Regional title in the 800m run, finishing in a time of 2:13.75, which is faster than state standard. Her time was just a second over her regional record, which she set in the 2018 regional

Jordan Griffin was the first to claim her spot in the state meet, finishing as the runner-up in the 400m dash with a time of 58.67. 

Paige Kirtz climbed her way to state out of the first heat of the 400-meter dash, winning her heat and running in a time of 59.59 seconds. Although she did not automatically qualify for the state meet, she will receive a call back and will participate in next week's state meet.

The same was true for the 4x400 realy team, which features these three of Griffin, Krtiz and Lynch, along with Eva Altschul. The Bulldogs ran in a time of 4:02.54 and will receive a call back to participate at state.

The state meet scheduled for June 5 will be held at Ben Davis High School. A starting time has yet to be announced, but the event will be streamed live on IHSAAtv.org.
