Girls' T&F takes Twilight Invitational title; Lynch finishes 7th at Miracle Mile

The Brownsburg Girls' Track and Field team finished a very successful Friday with a win at the Joe Schott Twilight Invitational and Abby Lynch taking seventh overall at the Miracle Mile at Franklin Central.

In the 400-meter dash, the Bulldogs took both first and second with Jordan Griffin and Paige Kirtz, respectively. In the 800-meter run, Brownsburg accomplished more of the same, with Eva Altschul and Isabella Maihofer finishing first and second, respectively. Altschul also won the mile with a personal-best time of 5:24.79.

The 4x100 relay team of Destiny Thomas, Hailey Hoskins, Darrelle Rice and Aysa Thruston took first place, as did the 4x400 relay team of Griffin, Kirtz, Altschul and Maihofer. The Bulldogs continued their strong day in the relays with a win in the 4x800 thanks to Maihofer, Isabel Anderson, Lindsay Huston and Sarah Boucher.

The Dogs also succeeded in the field, as Emily Teany won the pole vault event.

At the Miracle Mile at Franklin Central, Abby Lynch ran her way into the Championship Heat, where she finished 7th overall with a time of 5:02.60.

Brownsburg will next take on a dual meet at Plainfield on Thursday, April 22, after the meet was delayed after forecasted weather concerns. The meet is scheduled to start from Plainfield at 5:30 p.m.
