Girls' T&F wins Sectional Championship; Lynch & Griffin claim individual titles

The Brownsburg Girls' Track and Field team won the IHSAA Sectional 12 championship for the first time since 2018, edging host Zionsville by five points, 139-134. Plainfield finished in third with 116 points.

Abby Lynch claimed two individual sectional titles on Tuesday night, winning the 1600m run with a time of 5:11.12 and the 800-meter dash with a time of 2:18.83.

Jordan Griffin claimed the other individual sectional title for the Bulldogs in the 400m dash with a time of 58.75.

While the 4x100m relay team of Rice, Folsom, Thomas and Thruston finished second, they set a new school record in the event with a time of 49.5 seconds. Aysa Thruston wasn't done there, as she broke the freshman record in the 200m dash with a time of 26.13 seconds. 

Thruston advances in both the 100m and 200m dashes. Other Bulldogs advancing to the regional meet include Eva Altschul in the 800m run, Darelle Rice in the 100m dash, Paige Kirtz in the 400m dash, Heather Blue and Natalie Hay in the 100m and 300m hurdles, the 4x400 relay team and Kendall Meller in the high jump.

The regional meet is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25th at Lafayette Jeff. The meet is scheduled for 6 p.m.
