Bulldogs Drop Three to #4 Millers

The Bulldogs dropped three games this past weekend to #4 Noblesville in their HCC conference series.  After a rainout on Thursday evening, the Bulldogs hosted the Millers to a Friday night DH at Mary Beth Rose Park.  The Bulldogs fell behind 5-0 after the 3rd inning and were never able to put together enough offense to claw back.  The Dogs scored 1 in the seventh on a Greg Hughes solo home run the left, but that was the only run they could bring across. The night game on Friday started out with some fireworks as Chase Haynes lead off with a single up the middle and was brought in to score on a Brandon Reid triple down the right field line.  Unfortunately, the Dogs surrendered 2 in the bottom half of the inning and the Millers were able to get into the Bulldog bullpen early in the game after putting up 4 in the second.  The Dogs scored Charlie Brewer in the third to bring the score to 7-2 but were unable to but any more on the board and ended up losing 12-2 in 5 innings.  Saturday morning looked to be the game to break the Dogs streak after the Bulldogs scored 1 in the second inning to take an early 1-0 lead.  Tyler Bireley pitched an amazing game to keep the Millers scoreless through 5.  They were able to tie the score in the 5th to make the game 1-1 and after an untimely error in the bottom of the 6th, the Millers were able to score 3 unearned to break the game open 4-1 and collect the win.  The Bulldogs drop to 7-15 (3-12 HCC) and look to break their streak tonight against McCutcheon as the Bulldogs look to celebrate their seniors with a win.  Senior Night activities will start approximately 5:45p and the first pitch is set for 6pm.
