Bulldogs End Weekend On a Loss

The Bulldogs dropped the final game of their series with #1 Zionsville 7-2 on Saturday morning.  The Bulldogs got in trouble early when the Eagles rattled off 4 hits in the first and brought 6 runs across to take a big early 6-0 lead after the top of the 1st.  The Bulldogs were able to generate a few runs in the 2nd with hits from Chase Haynes and Charlie Brewer to bring the score to 6-2.  After that 2nd, the game turned into a pitching duel with sophomore Sam Hughes, in his first significant outing of the year, turned in 4 2/3 innings only allowing 1 run and Tyler Bireley finished off the game with 2 scoreless innings.  The Bulldogs drop to 7-12 (3-8 HCC) and will face off against Center Grove in tonight's senior night.
