Bulldogs Defeat North Central

The Bulldogs pushed the win total to six last night with a big non-conference victory over North Central 11-1.  After a quikc 1-2-3 inning by sophomore pitcher Garrett Copley the Bulldogs jumped on the board in a big way.  Greg Hughes led off the day with a single and the bases quickly loaded with back-to-back walks to Tyler Bireley and Logan KabrichCharlie Brewer, Cameron Martin, Jake Smith and Copley and Hughes followed that with 5 RBIs hits in the next seven batters to bring the score to 7-0 after the 1st.  Copley cruised in the second and third, not allowing a single hit for the Panthers while the Bulldog offense tacked on 3 more runs on 2 hits.  The Panthers snuck 1 run across the board in the 4th after back-to-back hits, but that was all the offense they could drum up for the day.  In the bottom of the 5th, Greg Hughes reached base on an error, was pushed to 2nd on a single from Bireley and scored on the game-ending run on an overthrow by the North Central catcher.  The Bulldogs ended the game 11-1 after 5 innings and Garrett Copley collected his first varsity win for the Bulldogs.  The Dogs move to 6-2 (2-1 HCC) and will be home against Fishers on Thursday and Saturday of this week.
