Brownsburg wins sectional championship with 7 individual titles

The No. 3 ranked Brownsburg Boys' Track and Field team won the Plainfield Sectional 12 title on Thursday night, recording 166.5 points that included seven individual titles. It's the Bulldogs' second consecutive sectional championship, dating back to the 2018-19 season.

John Colquitt won a team-high three sectional titles on the evening, securing first place in the 110-meter hrudles with a time of 14.48 seconds, the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 38.41 seconds and was the third leg of the winning 4x100 relay team which also featured Zemonda Wilson, Max Harris and Matthias Pilkington-Keickbush.

Tyray Lackey was the other multi-winner for Brownsburg on the night, winning both the high jump and long jump events with jumps of 6'6 and 22'10.25, respectively. Also in the field, Isaiah Smith threw a five foot personal record in shotput, throwing a toss of 52 feet. The mark places Smith second all-time in school history with that throw. He finished runner-up in sectional play.

While Brownsburg claimed seven wins, they also had plenty of runner-up finishes. Wilson finished second in the 100m dash, Trevor Nolan finished second in the 3200m run and Haiden Diemer-McKinney finished second in the 800m run.

All three relays were victorious and will each advance to the regional meet next Thursday, May 27, hosted by Lafayette Jeff.
