By Drew Sandifer

The Brownsburg Boys' Track team began their season on Wednesday with a narrow 67-65 win over HCC rival Westfield. The Bulldogs participated in their first event since the 2019 IHSAA State Championship meet.

Junior John Colquitt impressed in the season opener, taking three first-place finishes home in the long jump, 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. Senior Max Harris joined him in the multiple wins category with victories in in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

Haiden Diemer-McKinney finished first in the 400-meter dash and finished with the fastest split in the 4x400-meter relay.

The Bulldogs didn't just succeed on the track, though. Isaiah Smith finished 1st in shot put and Evan Furuness finished 1st in discus throw.

Brownsburg returns to action in a couple weeks, as they will travel to Brebeuf to face the Braves and Cathedral on April 6th.
