Colquitt breaks school record; No. 3 T&F takes Rotary Bell

By Drew Sandifer

The No. 3 Brownsburg Boys' Track & Field team picked up yet another win on its impressive campaign this year, knocking off Avon to claim the B&O Rotary Bell. Before the meet, Brownsburg's 13 seniors were recognized for their commitment and dedication to the program.

John Colquitt owned the highlight on Tuesday night, breaking the 10-year-old 300-meter hurdle record with a time of 39.19. The sub-40 time places him as the second-fastest 300M hurdle runner in the state of Indiana.

Tyray Lackey continued his breakthrough season in the field with a personal-best 21'9" in the long jump and 6'6" in the high jump. Fellow senior Trevor Nolan shined in the distance events, taking home victories in the 1600 and 3200-meter runs.

Sophomore Noah Jesse improved upon his personal best in the pole vault, jumping 11'6".

The freshman 4x100 relay team of Eric Richardson, Corey Smith, Griffin Simpson and Dominic Calhoun broke the freshmen school record with a stand-out time of 44.83. They broke the previous school record by .01 seconds.

Up next: The Bulldogs return to action on Friday night, April 30, competing in the Zionsville Invite at Zionsville High School. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
