Boys' Track and Field takes first place in home debut

By Drew Sandifer

The Brownsburg Boys' Track and Field team made their home debut on Tuesday night after a string of road meets to the start the season, but made the most of it, taking first place in the Lebanon/Speedway Triangular meet. The Bulldogs scored 138 points for their efforts, while Lebanon came in second with 23 points and Speedway recorded six points.

It was a big day for John Colquitt, who started off the day by winning the 110-meter hurdles, but also recorded his personal-best jump of 22 feet in the long jump. Fellow Bulldog Haiden Diemer-McKinney won both the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes, while Marco Barbosa won the high jump by clearing 6'-4".

The Bulldogs weren't done posting personal bests there, though. Scotty Tienda ran a personal best 51.33 in the 400-meter dash, just behind Diemer-McKinney. Sophomore Justin Petty recorded a personal-best 6'-1" in the high jump as well.

The team shifts its focus to Friday's Joe Schott Twilight Invitational, which will be hosted at Decatur Central High School and is scheduled to start at 5:30.
