Bulldogs Go 1-1 Over the Weekend

Friday the boys basketball team hosted Westfield for a HCC contest and Coaches vs Cancer evening.  The student body and both the boys and girls teams sported colored shirts in unified support of all people who are fighting cancer or who have won the battle against cancer.  The boys team took the floor hoping to maintain the perfect record in conference play.  Westfield jumped ahead of the Bulldogs and held the hosts at bay for most of the game.  A second half spurt cut the visitor lead to one in the fourth and a 15-8 fourth quarter advantage pushed the Dogs on to victory 63-57.  Several great performances were had to keep the team in the game.  The defensive effort to lock up the Shamrocks in the second half provided a huge boost to the Bulldogs and hold visitors to 24 points, after allowing 33 in the first half. Brownsburg improves its record to 13-2 and 3-0 in conference action.

Saturday Brownsburg hosted Carmel in a non-conference match up with the Greyhounds.  The evening was a tough one for the Bulldogs as they struggled right from the tip.  Carmel jumped out to a big lead and had a 16-8 first quarter advantage.  A 15-4 second quarter saw the Dogs dig a hole they could not recover from as Carmel went on to win 62-32.  Brownsburg shot a season low 28% from the field and struggled to convert any runs into significant momentum against the Greyhounds.  Brownsburg looks to bounce back Friday as they travel to Zionsville in an huge HCC showdown with the Eagles in a matchup of state ranked teams
