Bulldogs Improve to 2-0 with Victory Over Red Devils

Brownsburg improved their record to 2-0 as they captured their first road win of the season 63-49 over Pike.  After a sloppy opening debut, the Bulldogs played with much better execution both offensively and defensively.  With fans from both sides packing the gym Brownsburg took a 13-11 lead after one quarter of play.  Both teams battled through the second quarter as the defenses and athletic effort of both teams made scoring difficult.  Brownsburg was able to make a little run as the half ended to take a 26-19 advantage.  Both teams struggled to score the ball  in the third as Pike closed the gap to 34-31.  The fourth quarter saw both teams break out offensively as Brownsburg outscored the hosts 29-18 to finish the win for the Bulldogs.  Cameron Alford (23pts) and Malek Edmonds (19 pts) lead Brownsburg in scoring, while Kris Jackson (6 ast), Reis Thomas (3 ast) and Pierce Thomas (2 ast) created some effective offense for the Bulldogs.  Antrez Baker(5 reb), Cameron Alford(3 reb) and Malek Edmonds (3 reb) lead the Brownsburg effort on the battle of the boards.  Team stats Brownsburg only committed 10 turnovers against Pike's pressure defense and hit 17-18 free throws in the fourth quarter to finish 21-24 for the contest. Brownsburg will be back in action Friday against defending National champion  LaLumiere High School from Laporte Indiana in the Hendricks County Hoopsfest hosted at Danville High School
