Bulldogs Advance in County Tourney

Tuesday the boys basketball team travelled to Danville for the second game of the Hendricks County Tournament Tuesday.  Both teams came into the game ranked and sporting identical 7-2 records.  Brownsburg gained a slight edge after one quarter 9-8.  Both teams had opportunities but strong physical defenses made scoring difficult.  Brownsburg broke out a little holding Danville to 8 points again and scoring 18 of their own to take a 27-16 halftime lead.  The hosts came out to get back into the game by scoring 16 points and cutting the Brownsburg lead to 2 before Brownsburg closed the quarter up 36-32.  Brownsburg executed well down the stretch to push the lead out for a 52-44 win.  Brownsburg had very balanced scoring with Malek Edmonds (14) Cameron Alford (12) Pierce Thomas(11) and Reis Thomas (9) all chipping in key baskets. Edmonds(7 reb, 4 ast), Alford (3 Ast, 4 steals) Pierce Thomas (2 ast, 3 steals) Reis Thomas (6 reb) and Antrez Baker (5 reb) all contributed quality stats while Gunnar Reffeitt and Kyle Wolf contributed great defensive plays,  Brownsburg will take on Plainfield Thursday in the semifinals of the County Tournament.
