Bulldogs Over Southport

Bulldogs Over Southport

Two days after squeaking out a tough road win at Columbus East, the boys basketball team left no doubt who would be in control Friday against visiting Southport.  The Dogs raced to a 19-4 lead paced by Reis Thomas' 8 first quarter points.  The Dogs seemed to click on all cylinders as they cruised to a 38-20 halftime lead.  The only concern of the coaches was the middle quarter defense as the dogs gave up 31 points through the second and third quarters.  However, the Bulldogs kept their foot on the offensive pedal to push the scoring to a season high nine 3 pointers and 89 total points in securing an 89-44 victory.   The team seemed crisp on offense assisting 26 of their 36 made field goals. On top of shooting 50% from 3 pt, Brownsburg was a perfect 8 of 8 from the foul line.  Kris Jackson, Cameron Alford, Gunnar Reffeitt, and Pierce Thomas all tallied 5 assists for the evening.  Reis Thomas continued his hot start to score a game high 23 points, follow by Alford with 22.  Antrez Baker tallied 10 rebounds and Reis Thomas followed with 7 of his own.  Pierce Thomas and Kyle Wolf got the crowd going with 3 big time dunks in the second half.  In all, 11 players recorded scores for the team as the Bulldogs scored at least 19 points in each quarter.  Brownsburg will travel to Danville Tuesday for the Hendricks County tournament to take on host Danville in the 8:00pm game
