Several Girls Track Members Will Compete at State Meet
Some impressive performances from the Girls' Track Team at Regionals on Tuesday earned 3 Bulldogs a trip to the State Finals! The winning streak continued for Stephanie Mavunga as she is yet to lose an outdoor meet all season. Throwing the shot put over 39 ft. Stephanie defeated some of the best throwers in the state to take home 1st place. Hurdler Sibong Ncube is heading back to the State Meet once again as she edged out her opponents at the line and placed 3rd with a time of 15.6 seconds. Freshman Claire Hathaway's track career is off to a great start as she came off her school record performance last week and placed 2nd overall in the long jump to join her teammates at State.
Finally, freshman Megan Berry just missed advancing in the pole vault, finishing in 4th, but it was a still a fantastic night as she cleared 10' 6" and broke a very tough school record that she's had her eyes on all season! Congratulations to Megan, Claire, Sibong, and Stephanie! Good luck at State!
