Girls' Track Places 2nd at Hendricks Regional Health County Meet

The Girls' Track Team came home with a hard-fought 2^nd place finish last night at the County Championship Meet. Despite a few unfortunate key injuries on the night the girls stayed strong and put in several great performances. The throwers once again brought their A game as Stephanie Mavunga and Crystal Stowers finished in 1^st and 2^ndoverall to dominate the shot put, while Brittany Newson had a career night by throwing 99' 10" for a 2^nd place finish in the discus competition. Sophomore Briana Smith flew through the heavy rain in the sprint competition to finish 1^st overall in the 200 meter and 2^nd overall in the 100 m. Sophomore Tavon McCollum ran an excellent race and was the night's top finisher in the 400 meter dash with a season best time 1:02. Freshman Mackenzie Vondersaar continued to take seconds off of her personal best time in the mile to finish 5^th in a time of 5:53 right behind teammate Julia Popenfoose who came across the line in 5:47.
