Girls' Track Starts Indoor Season

It was a fantastic night for many members of the girls' track team on Friday night at the Oriole Indoor Classic. Just a few of the highlights included senior Stephanie Mavunga finishing 1st place overall with a personal best and near school record  throw of 42 ft. in the shot put, Freshman Megan Berry setting a new freshman and indoor meet record by clearing an impressive 9' 9" in the pole vault, and Claire Hathaway setting a new freshman record and finishing 2nd overall in the long jump with a jump of 15' 11. Distance runner Cassidy Brown started the season off by showing a 23 second improvement over her previous personal best time in the 2 mile race with a time of 12:05. Sprinters Briana Smith and Flo Akinribade also set new indoor personal best times as they crossed the finish of the 55 meter dash. Great job to the entire team for starting the season off on a positive note!
