Several More Bulldogs Qualify for Indoor State Meet

GIRLS RESULTS:

The girls' track team traveled back to DePauw on Tuesday to compete in the Last Minute Indoor State Qualifier Meet. While no team scores are kept for this meet there were several notable individual performances. Senior Sibong Ncube placed second in a very crowded field to qualify for indoor state for the third straight season in the 55 meter hurdles. Sophomore Brittney Newson set a new personal record in the shot put with a throw of over 33 feet in just her first attempt of the season. In the 2 mile race Alyse Mitchener came through in 13:54 and and Jamie Wieder in 13:55 as both set new all-time personal records. Isabella Zoog, Hannah Linville, Jaquelyn Batayneh, and Carli Doty all had great splits in the 4x200 relay completing the half mile race in 2:02. Great job to all the girls on a job well done!

BOYS RESULTS:

The boys' track team officially completed their indoor season Tuesday  night at the "last chance" qualifier at Depauw University.  Jeremy Shupperd, who is already qualified for the Indiana indoor state meet this weekend had a solid performance in the high jump to place 2nd with a leap of 6'2". Jeremy posted another stellar run in the 55 meters hurdles as well, a time of 7.95, bringing home the third place trophy. The boys 3200 was a great race to watch Tuesday night and Brownsburg's Justin Hays was in the mix down to the wire and bringing home a respectable 4th place finish. In addition, the Brownsburg boys pole vaulters had a great night as well. Josh Mishler had a new personal best jump of 13' which got him a top five finish and David LaPerle, a senior, won the event w/ a jump of 14'9. This jump ties David's personal best and gives him the 5th best jump this year in the state of Indiana going into the state championship's this weekend.
