Bulldogs Split Monday DH Against Westfield
The Bulldogs split a rare Monday night doubleheader last night to finish off their series with the Westfield Shamrocks. The Bulldogs dropped the first game 11-10 and took home the night cap 9-5. The night was highlighted by an bit of an offensive surge from the Bulldogs and capped by a couple of great pitching performances by Garrett Copley, Tyler Bireley and Logan Kabrich. Garrett Copley left game one with a 5 run lead, but unfortunately the bullpen struggled to close the door. In game 2, The Bulldogs jumped to an early 2 run lead and continued to build, adding 1 in the third, 5 in the fifth and another in the 6th. Tyler Bireley threw five innings in game two and Logan Kabrich was able to shut the door and earn the save for the night. Offensively, the Dogs were led by Jordan Jones, who had an impressive evening going 5-5 with 6 RBIs and scoring 3 runs himself. Tyler Bireley added 3 doubles to his season tally on a 4-9 evening and Luis Escalante went 3-6 and Michael Oliger added 4 hits to the team total. All-in-all the Bulldogs put up 18 hits on the night and 19 runs. The Dogs look to carry the hot hand into this week's Zionsville series which will look to kick off on Thursday at Zionsville.
