K.Cross Goes 4-5 with 3 RBI in County Tourney
The Bulldogs lost the first game of the county tournament by the score of 23-3 to the Avon Orioles. The Bulldogs struggled to find the zone on the mound and couldn't generate any offense outside of a 3-run inning in the bottom of the second with RBI hits from freshmen Kerrington Cross and junior Garrett Copley.
In the consolation game, the Bulldogs took home and 11-0 victory over Cascade. Senior Tyler Birely threw 5 innings allowing only 1 infield hit to the Cadets and was able to strike out 8 batters. Offensively, the Bulldogs were led again by freshman Kerrington Cross and Garrett Copley. Cross was 2-2 on the day with a walk, a RBI and 3 runs scored. Copley had his second multi-hit game of the day going 2-4 and scoring 2 runs. The Dogs also had big hits supplied by sophomores Chris Klayer and Michael Oliger. The Bulldogs will face North Central on Monday in a non-conference matchup before heading to Fishers on Thursday to start their second HCC series of the year.
