L. Escalante Goes 4-7 in Loss to Tigers
The Bulldogs dropped a three game set against #1 ranked Fishers this past weekend losing 8-2, 9-0 and 4-0. In the first game of the doubleheader the Bulldogs offense was held scoreless, but the Dogs jumped on the board early in the night cap, but the Fishers Tigers were able to place some timely hits and take the score to 3-2 after the second. The game remained scoreless for the next few innings until the Tigers scratched a few more across and then added a couple insurance runs in the top of the 7th. The Bulldogs threatened late in the game, but were not able to get a timely hit to score some runs. In the third game of the series, at Fishers, the Bulldogs were down 4-0 with the bases loaded in the top of the 7th with two outs, but again did not see the needed hit to drive in some runs. The Bulldogs will have a nonconference home game against the Cathedral Irish this Tuesday before Westfield comes to town for another conference series.
