Bulldogs Compete at Regional

Saturday Brownsburg played in the Southport Regional for the third time in the last four years.  Brownsburg and Connersville battled through a tough defensive first half with the Dogs leading 18-16.  Both teams had opportunities to score but defense was playing ahead of the offense at that point.  Kris Jackson hit a big three point shot at the end of the first quarter to ignite some Bulldog momentum into the second quarter.

The Dogs worked to increase their lead through the third quarter but only to see Connersville trim it back to 2 points.  The Dogs were able to break the game open with a run early in the fourth.  Connersville had their run to end the quarter and with 12 seconds left tied the game.  A last second shot fell short for Brownsburg and the game went to overtime.  A quick 4 point spurt by Connersville was the difference as they went on to defeat Brownsburg 55-49.  Brownsburg again had great contributions from all who played and could not put enough scores together through the end of regulation.  Many Thanks to seniors Landon Hall and Packard Rozzi for their leadership and continued improvement.  Juniors Antrez Baker, Kyle Wolf and Kris Jackson for their energy, effort and enthusiasm each night.  Ryan Porath, Damon Craig for their consistent improvement and great support throughout the season.  Sophomores Cameron Alford and Reis Thomas for their super consistent play as 2nd year varsity members and the leadership strides they have made.  Gunnar Reffeitt, Tyler Nolan and Richard Lang for their improvement and contributions in spot minutes and unwavering support of their teammates. And Freshman Malek Edmonds for his growth in a very tough and competitive varsity environment to contribute key minutes from the bench as a freshman varsity player.  Seth Harley, Connor Lucas, Tim Trammer, SeVonte Sumpter Bey and Derek Linville for taking the White Squad to new heights and making practices so competitive.  Players who made all the necessary contributions to have an outstanding season.  All 18 members who concluded the season are deserving of praise and congratulations on winning the 20th sectional in school history and establishing a very young Bulldog team as a program on the rise.
