Former Bulldog Named to 2017 Silver Anniversary Team

NEW CASTLE – Eighteen men have been named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame's 2017 Silver Anniversary Team, based on outstanding accomplishments as a senior basketball player 25 years ago.

The team includes 13 members of the 1992 Indiana All-Star squad, including Browsburg player Craig Brunes.  Five other all-state players are included to recognize the top of Indiana's high school class of 1992.

1992 Indiana All-Stars include Mr. Basketball Charles Macon of Michigan City Elston as well as Jermaine Ball, Craig Brunes, Kurt Comer, Matt Delinger, Brian Gilpin, Richie Hammel, Steve Hart, Mark Lueking, Walter McCarty, Jason McKenzie, Scott Shepherd and Billy Wright from 1992 state champion Richmond.

The remaining five, named to various all-state teams are: Mike Brooks, Alan Bush, Joe Estes, Chris Miskel and Brandt Schuckman.

CRAIG BRUNES - 1992 Indiana All-Star. Finished 3rd in Mr. Basketball voting after totaling 1,778 points and 433 assists at Brownsburg. Teams won three sectionals, two regionals, two-time CSAC conference champs and two-times Hendricks County tourney champs. Teams were 48-6 his junior and senior seasons and 79-24 in his career. He graduated as Hendricks County career scoring leader, 1992 AP, Coaches and Bloomington Herald-Times 1st team all-state, 1992 Indianapolis Metro Player of the Year, 3x all-sectional, 2x all-regional, 2x all-semi-state, 1991 HOF Classic all-tourney team and 1992 McDonald's All-American nominee. Played two seasons at Joliet Junior College, winning 1994 NJCAA National Championship, and two years at Valparaiso University. Scored over 1,000 points at Joliet, named 1994 NJCAA National Championship all-tournament team, 2x all-conference. Was assistant coach at Valpo for their 2001 Mid-Continent Conference champion team. Is currently employed in sales & leasing at Hunt Pacific Management Company in Fishers. Married, with two children, he lives in Fishers.
