Sectional Champions!!
For the first time since the 2008 State championship run and the 18th time since 1927, the Brownsburg Bulldogs are sectional champions. The Dogs earned the chance to cut down the nets after a 58-47 win over an experienced Martinsville team. KJ Walton (19 points) Trevor Lucas (18 points) and Darrian Ringo (13 points) lead the Dogs in scoring. Senior Kyle Thompson got the team off to a great start scoring all six of his points in the first quarter. Tyler Houston, Jordache Mavunga, Kyle Thompson, and Dalton Vachon provided outstanding defense and rebounding as the Dogs held all three Sectional opponents to 47 points. As they have all season, the Dogs defended well, took care of the basketball and made clutch free throws down the stretch. Ringo, Walton and Lucas went 16-17 from the foul line in the fourth quarter and saw a 4 point 3rd quarter lead grow to the final margin of 11. The 21 wins is the third best mark since 1993-94. This sectional is only the fifth championship the Dogs have won away from their home gym.
