Boys' Basketball Captures County Crown

Boys' Basketball Captures County Crown

The boys basketball team travelled Monday night to Tri West to battle Avon for 2014 County bragging rights.  After 32 minutes of battle your bulldogs earned themselves a 67-41 victory over the Orioles.

The Orioles did not notch more than 12 points in a quarter as Brownsburg played a variety of defenses to keep their opponent off balance for most of the evening.  Great effort and performances turned in by every Bulldog player.  Starting guards Darrian Ringo, Trevor Lucas and KJ Walton turned in an outstanding defensive effort for the evening harassing perimeter offensive players and not allowing an outstanding Avon offense easy opportunities. Tyler Houston, Kyle Thompson, Sam Comer, Dalton Vachon and Jordache Mavunga grabbed rebounds, loose balls, took charges and were great rim protectors for Dogs as the team really showed great intensity to collect their first championship since 2008.

Seniors Kyle Hathaway and Andrew Hubley added to the celebration as they each made a 3 for a frenzied student section in the closing minutes.  Through the first 10 games of the season your 9-1 Bulldogs are ranked 3rd in the class 4A AP poll, 8th in the IBCA all class poll, 10th in Jeff Sagarin's computer rankings and rank among the state's best defensive averages  They go for an important win Friday as 3 time defending conference champion Hamilton Southeastern comes to Varsity Fieldhouse to take on your Dogs.  Both teams are state ranked and will be one of the biggest games in the state.  Come on out to cheer your Dogs on Friday!
