Bulldogs Push Record to 6-1

The boys Varsity basketball team travelled to Avon for a conference matchup with our Hendricks county rivals on Friday night.  On an evening where Avon recognized their fall athletes, your Bulldogs stole the show with a hard fought victory 58-51.  The team had great balance with four different players scoring more than 8 points led by Trevor Lucas with 17 points on 8 shot attempts.  Darrian Ringo handed out 7 assists and 6 different players had 3 or more rebounds topped by Jordache Mavunga with 5.  Your Bulldogs push their record to 5-1 and 3-0 in conference play.

A last second defensive play lead to a basket at the buzzer to push your Brownsburg Bulldogs to a 47-45 victory over visiting Ben Davis Saturday evening.  After a hard fought win Friday evening, the Dogs took the floor for the last time in 2013.  The team battled to a six point lead at half time as Trevor Lucas sank a 3 at the buzzer from a great pass from KJ Walton.  Ben Davis responded with a dominating third quarter attacking Brownsburg's defense and creating several scoring opportunities off Bulldog offensive miscues to take a 2 point lead into the 4thquarter.

Great plays by several Bulldogs down the stretch gave the home team its opportunity at the end.  KJ Walton and Trevor Lucas made big three point shots to close the gap with minutes remaining.  Tyler Houston kept at least one possession alive with timely offensive rebounding.  Darrian Ringo had a huge assist to Houston to tie the score with a minute remaining while plays before creating a basket and foul to keep the Dogs close.  The final play had Walton defending a great Ben Davis drive while Ringo deflected the ball to Kyle Thompson.  Thompson immediately pitched the ball up court to a streaking Ringo who laid the ball in at the buzzer.  Students rushed the floor to celebrate a great end to the 2013 portion of the season.
