Bulldogs go 2-0 Over the Weekend

The Bulldogs traveled Friday to HCC rival Zionsville Friday evening.  With  the snow flying outside and the raucous crowd pulling for the home team, your Bulldogs played great defense holding Zionsville to 39 points. The Bulldogs scored 42 and pushed their record to 3-1.  The win helps the Bulldogs remain undefeated in conference play.  Great team defense and excellent patience against a stingy Zionsville zone helped the Bulldogs build 6 point lead going into the fourth quarter.  KJ Walton and Trevor Lucas made FT's late to seal the win.  Lucas lead the Dogs in scoring with 19 points.  The team held a Zionsville team who scored 66 points in their first outing to 23 points through 3 quarters.  Excellent effort by all to secure a tough conference road game.

Saturday evening the Brownsburg Bulldogs host #2 Pike in a non-conference matchup.  The Dogs lead 12-11 after one quarter but saw Pike take a half time lead after a back and forth second quarter.  Brownsburg erupted for 31 fourth quarter points to pull away at the end and secure a 64-50 win.  Outstanding performances by several players contributed to the win.  Guards Tyler Houston and Trevor Lucas lead the team with 8 rebounds each.  Darrian Ringo did a great job handling Pike's constant pressure all evening.  After 14 first half turnovers, the Dogs settled down and committed only two second half turnovers allowing for a much better offensive effort.  Forwards Kyle Thompson, Jordache Mavunga, Sam Comer and Dalton Vachon battled a very athletic Pike team for control of the paint all evening.  The effort to control the paint allow the Dogs to win the rebound battle over Pike for the evening.  KJ Walton lead the Dogs in scoring with 28.  His 14-15 effort from the foul line ignited a 31-32 team effort as the team sealed the win with clutch shooting late in the fourth quarter.  The win pushes the Varsity record to 4-1 as they prepare to take on rival Avon next Friday evening
