Bulldogs Down Millers

Bulldogs Down Millers

The Brownsburg boys basketball team travelled to Noblesville for a big HCC contest Friday with the Millers.  The Bulldogs came away with a hard fought 53-41 victory.  The team defended their way to the win holding the Millers to 38% shooting and forcing 21 turnovers.  After opening the game with a 14-4 first quarter lead, the bulldogs had to withstand an 18 point second quarter from Noblesville to enter the halftime leading by 2.  A similar start for the second half saw Brownsburg push their lead to 6 by the quarter break.  The Millers rallied to tie the score at 39 points apiece with about 3:40 to play.  After a time out the Dogs held Noblesville to 2 points the rest of the game and ran off 14 of their own for the final margin.  KJ Walton lead the way with another well-played game.  Defending Noblesville's point guard, scoring and distributing the ball, Walton made nice contributions at both ends.

Not to be left out, several bulldogs contributed mightily to the effort.  Darrian Ringo ran the team offensively and distributed the ball to open teammates with timely passing and harassing Noblesville shooters all evening.  Trevor Lucas almost made the high lite of the season with a tip dunk on a missed Brownsburg free throw but was called for over the back(which was the right call) Excellent defense and timely scoring from the post players rounded out a great team performance for the Bulldogs. Tyler Houston had time to catch up TV personality Anthony Calhoun before the game as he was doing sports previews.  Your Bulldogs will host Westfield and Tri West at home this weekend, see you at Varsity Fieldhouse!
