Bulldogs Advance to Championship

Saturday afternoon's Hendricks County semi-final tournament game pitting the 7-1 Bulldogs versus the 9-1 Danville squad was a nail biter for more than 3 quarters, but Brownsburg boys basketball team improved their record to 8-1 after a hard fought 59-41 victory.  After struggling most of the evening with Danville's scrappy defensive effort, the Bulldogs broke open a very close contest in the fourth quarter outscoring their opponents 25-10.  The lineup of Ringo, Walton, Houston, Lucas and Mavunga lead a stretch of great defensive possessions through the second half.  Danville could not notch more than 10 points in a quarter with the exception of their 13 point 3rd quarter.  The Bulldogs struggled all evening to find the bottom of the net but their defense proved to be the catalyst as they notched 15 steals lead by Darrian Ringo and Tyler Houston.  The Bulldogs made 73% of their free throws showing consistency at the line over the last month.  While the offense seemed out of sync, the Dogs did a great job taking care of the ball and eventually pushed out a 2 point third quarter lead.  Jordache Mavunga lead the Bulldogs with 8 rebounds and KJ Walton and Darrian Ringo scored 28 and 20 points respectively.

Brownsburg will take on rival Avon Monday evening for the county championship.  Game time is 8 pm.
