Girls XC Advances to Semi-State
The Girls' Cross Country team competed at the Ben Davis Regional on Saturday and put in a great performance to leave as the runner-up team! In one of their best team performances of the season several girls ran personal best times and they continued to make major strides on their average team tim. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Freshman Lauren Rinehart in a time of 19:08 finishing in 9th place overall. Following Lauren was Brooke Dixon who picked up several important points in the second half of the race. The 3-5 runners for the team all had huge personal best times as Carly Altier broke her previous best by 57 seconds, Emma Cougill by 42 seconds, and Grace Esterline by 17 seconds as they all finished well under the 20 minute mark. Rounding out the race for the girls, and contributing big by pushing other team's scores back, was another nice race from Cora Minkis and an incredibly gutsy race by Gabby Bische. Congratulations to Lauren, Brooke, and Carly on being named to the All-Regional Team! The girls will now travel to Shelbyville this Saturday as they attempt to qualify for the State Meet!
