Girls' XC Competes at State Preview

The Girls Cross Country Team traveled to the Terre Haute State Preview on Saturday and came away with a 6th place finish out of the 15 competing teams. The Freshmen took the top 3 spots for the Bulldogs beginning with Lauren Rinehart, who remained with the lead pack for the first 2 miles and ultimately finished in 12th place out of over 220 runners with a time of 19:37. Brooke Dixon nearly broke the 20 minute mark with a time of 20:11, while Carly Altier continues to move up in the pack as she came through with an impressive 20:38. Also running well, Gabby Bische and Grace Esterline are already closing in on their best times early in the season as they both had nice races at 20:45 and 21:22. The team next travels to the fast course at Ben Davis this Saturday morning. Good luck to all!

The JV squad continued to impress as they finished in 4th place just behind Carmel, Fishers, and Westfield. Leading the way for the team was Sophomore Morgan Spears, already running just 13 seconds from her best time ever at 22:50. Sarah Pitts, Irene Amalaraj, Hannah Tippets and Kierstyn U'Ren rounded out the top 5 scoring positions with excellent races of their own. Sara Lents, Mackenzie Barrett, and Hannah Guy were just a few more of many that continued to improve their times and place well for the Bulldogs. Nice work by these girls and keep it up at Ben Davis on Saturday!
