Girls XC Races to 4th Place Finish

The Girls Cross Country team toughed out extremely wet conditions Saturday at the Ben Davis Invitational and took home a hard earned 4th place team finish out of 24 total teams competing. Making their way through ankle deep water and mud Lauren Rinehart once again lead the way in 10th place overall. Sophomore Gabby Bische had her one of her best days ever, despite the conditions, as she moved up in the pack to finish as the teams 2nd runner and place in the top 20 runners with a time of 20:33. Brooke Dixon was six seconds back in 20:39, while Carly Altier, and Grace Esterline rounded out the top 5 positions. Freshman Emma Cougill ran a nice race and finished with her personal best time of 21:42, while Emily Truax ran a tough race and wrapped things up for the team just behind her. Hoping for better weather the team will travel to Carmel this Saturday to take part in the FlashRock Invitational. Best of luck to all of the girls!

The JV continued to show the always improving depth of the team by finishing with a 2nd place team finish in their race! Sophomore Ali Ray lead the pack as the team's first runner in a time of 22:55, followed by Olivia Zoog, Anna Boone, Morgan Spears, Sarah Pitts, and Laura Sanders. Finishing with new career personal best times were Freshmen Lauren Gillespie, Campbell Adelsperger, and Senior Mysti Lebeter. Sophomore Faye Jessup made her return to running for the season with a gutsy race as she battled the rough conditions. Great job to these girls and the entire team on a big day!
