Gold Bear Champs!

The Girls Cross Country team competed in the Shelbyville Golden Bear Invitational on Saturday and came away as the overall team champions! Finally enjoying some nicer weather, every girl that raced had their best time of the season and a huge percentage had their best times ever ! Lauren Rinehart once again lead the way for the Bulldogs running a smart race and finishing in 3rd place overall and coming within just 4 seconds of the school record with a time of 18:52. Brooke Dixon also closed in on the record in 6th place at 19:09. Sophomore Gabby Bische had her best day ever and broke the 20 minute mark for the first time as she placed 14th at 19:54. Senior Grace Esterline also came in with an all-time best in her four years with a time of 20:09. Freshman Carly Altier rounded out the top 5 with a time of 20:25. Emily Truax ran a great race as the 6th runner for the team and Olivia Zoog also ran tough as the team's 7th runner. Also running varsity and making a difference in the score were Sophomores Ali Ray, Anna Boone, and Morgan Spears. Great job on bringing home the trophy!

In the JV race Freshman Cora Minkis made her season debut after working her way back from injury and didn't waste any time as she took 1st place overall by over 30 seconds with a time of 20:43. Freshmen Sarah Pitts and Hannah Tippets were close behind in the 2 and 3 spots with their best times of the season. Laura Sanders, Brianna Channon, and Faye Jessup rounded out the top 5 for the Bulldogs with very nice races of their own. Also finishing well for the JV squad were Michaela and Mackenzie Barrett, Irene Amalaraj, Delaney Patterson, and also making her season debut with a good race was Senior Rachel Graham. Great job to the entire team as they finished in a very impressive 2nd place overall as a team! Keep up the good work and best of luck next week at the Conference Meet in Noblesville!
