Girls XC Runs in FlasRock Invite

It was another muddy Saturday morning for the Girls Cross Country team as they competed in the FlashRock Invitational at Carmel. Running in the Invitational Race the girls fought hard and, while the times were expectedly slower due to the conditions, came away in 2nd place out of 20 teams and 177 individual runners. Freshman Brooke Dixon lead the way for the Bulldogs as she came in 4th place with one of her better races so far in a time of 20:33. Lauren Rinehart finished in 6th place and Gabby Bische rounded out the top 10 in 10th place. Freshman Emma Cougill placed in her best position of the season and scored valuable points for the teaSm as their 4th runner in 14th place, followed by Emily Truax in her best race so far in 21st. Grace Esterline and Ali Ray, who jumped into the top 7 for the first time this season, rounded out the race for the girls.

On the JV side the girls finished in 7th place out of 27 total teams. Brianna Channon lead the charge for the girls, while Kierstyn U'Ren, Laura Sanders, Sara Pitts, and Hannah Tippets joined her as top 5 girls through the finish line followed closely by Sara Lents and Irene Amalaraj in 6th and 7th for the team. Also running a nice race were Molly Romine and Mackenzie Barrett. Congratulations to these girls and great job of working hard in less than ideal conditions! The team will next travel to Shelbyville this Saturday to run in the Golden Bear Invitational. Good luck to all of the runners!
