Bulldogs Run to 3rd Place Finish
The Girls Cross Country team opened their season with a strong performance at the Plainfield Relays on Saturday as they finished the day in 3rdplace out of 12 total teams. Running in relay pairs, the Freshman duo of Lauren Rinehart and Brooke Dixon were impressive in their first ever HS race finishing in 4th place overall and finishing the 6 mile relay averaging just over 6 minutes per mile. Following close behind in 11th place was the pair Gabby Bische and Carly Altier, with the pair of Emily Truax and Emma Cougill in 19th as the final scoring pair for the team. Also placing well and making a huge contribution by pushing other teams scorers back were Grace Esterline, Anna Boone, Olivia Zoog, and Laura Sanders.
The JV squad also came out of the gate with a fantastic performance as they finished the day in 2nd place overall as a team. Leading the pack was Sophomore Ali Ray as she covered the 2 mile race in a time of 14:01 and placed 7th in a race of 174 girls! Coming in close behind, Morgan Spears ran one of her best races ever in a time of 14:31. Rounding out the scoring was a solid pack of 4 runners including Sarah Pitts, Faye Jessup, Hannah Tippets, and Irene Amalaraj.
